Review ★★★
Shaandaar

Shaandaar was Bollywood’s first “destination” movie, I’m not really sure what that means but it was filmed entirely in the UK, and not like something small in London. This movie was expensive and quite gaudy. One of the characters, ‘Mummiji’ drives around in a motorized Laz-I-Boy. It was painful to see! But also sounds like something my friends + I would do. So points for inspiration.

Of course, the movie overall was well done. They even CGI’ed frogs in which are generally available for free in Mother Nature. But I have to judge a movie by how much heart it has and the only redeeming quality of this movie was Alia Bhaat who won my eternal endorsement with Utda Punjab and Highway.

Have to say. Many of the songs were unbearably dumb but the black-and-white dance was very nice.
